Our chapel, at the foot of Mt. Nebo

What the day is like

Small, unhurried, and holy.

There is no receiving line and no seating chart for people you barely know. You get ready in the bridal suite with your mama and your sister. The doors open, and everyone in that room is there because they love you.

A chapel, not a ballroom

My husband Josh built it by hand. Tall windows, warm wood floors, and afternoon light that photographers get quiet about.

An altar you choose

A gold arch, a wooden cross, or neither. We set the front of the chapel the way you want to remember standing in it.

Room for the ones who matter

Up to thirty people, seated and comfortable. Enough for both families and the friends you would call at midnight.

Nothing on your list

I design your flowers, I plan your day, and I am here running it. You will not be answering questions in your dress.

Come look around

Twenty acres, and all of it yours.

Josh built this chapel by hand, board by board, on evenings and weekends. I planted the gardens. Everything here we made ourselves, and on your wedding day nobody else is on the property.

One

The chapel

White stucco, arched windows, and a tall pitched ceiling with a chandelier hanging down the middle. Heated and cooled, so a January wedding is as comfortable as a June one.

The light in here in the late afternoon is the reason photographers keep asking to shoot at Gateley Hill.

  • 840 square feet, seats up to 68
  • Gold arch, wooden cross, or neither, your choice
  • Heated and cooled year round

Two

Your bridal suite

Brand new, and yours for the two hours before the ceremony. Room for your mama, your sister, and whoever is doing your hair, with a mirror and good light and space to spread out.

Nobody is hurrying you. You will not be getting dressed in a bathroom or a borrowed Sunday school room.

  • Yours for two full hours beforehand
  • A mirror, good light, and room to move
  • Guest bathrooms just off the lobby

Three

The gardens and grounds

Twenty acres at the foot of Mt. Nebo, with a pond, climbing roses on the pergola, and cutting beds where I grow the flowers that end up in your hands.

This is where you go after the ceremony for photographs, and there is nobody else out here waiting on you.

  • 20 acres of grounds, gardens and pond
  • Mt. Nebo State Park right behind us
  • Cutting gardens for your florals

Four

The groom's dressing room

A room of his own down the hall, so the guys have somewhere to get ready, tie their ties and stay out from underfoot while you are getting into your dress.

Five

The lobby

Eight hundred square feet where your people gather as they arrive, out of the weather and out of your sight. Guest bathrooms open right off of it.

A sample day

Four hours, and how they go.

Two hours to get ready, two hours for your wedding. Here is a three o'clock ceremony laid out end to end. We shape yours around whatever time you want to say your vows.

Two hours getting ready
1:00 The bridal suite is yoursYou arrive, hair and makeup settle in, and I start setting the chapel. Bring music and something to eat.
1:30 Flowers arriveI bring your bouquet in so you see it before anyone else does.
2:15 Into the dressYour mama buttons you in. The groom gets ready in his own room down the hall.
2:45 Guests arriveEveryone gathers in the lobby while you stay tucked away.
Two hours for your wedding
3:00 CeremonyThe doors open and you walk down the aisle. Most ceremonies run twenty to thirty minutes.
3:30 Photographs in the gardensThe two of you, then family. Twenty acres to work with and no one waiting on the room.
4:00 Cake and punchCutting the cake, a toast, and time to actually talk to the people who came.
4:30 First danceYour song, your floor, everyone standing around you.
4:45 Petal send-offEverybody lines up and throws petals as you go. That part is included too.

This is a sample, not a rule. Move the ceremony earlier or later and everything shifts with it. We build your real timeline together in your planning sessions.

Choosing your day

Any weekday, the same price.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are all $2,900. Same chapel, same gardens, same flowers from my hands, same me. Pick whichever one suits your people.

$2,900

Monday through Thursday · up to 30 guests

Every weekday is the same. Everything above is included, and what you save tends to go toward the honeymoon or the house.

The question I hear most

Will people actually come?

They will. I have watched it happen over and over, and it has never once been the thing a bride was afraid it would be.

One day off, gladly

People take a day for the people they love. Tell them a few months ahead and they will be there.

Kinder to family

A weekday in October is easier on out-of-town relatives than a June Saturday when the whole state is at a wedding.

The place is yours

No wedding before you and none after. Nobody hurrying you out the door.

Your favorites are free

The photographer booked out on Saturdays through next fall is open on a Wednesday.

Nobody has ever told me they wished they had invited more people.Crystal Malloy, owner

Straight with you

Three things you book yourself.

I would rather you know now. These are yours to arrange, and I will gladly send you names I trust.

Your photographer

The one I tell every couple to spend real money on. Flowers wilt. Photographs do not.

Your officiant

A pastor, a judge, or a friend. Just have them register with an Arkansas clerk first.

Hair and makeup

Someone who travels to you. You will be getting ready right here.

Beer, wine and champagne are welcome. No liquor or spirits on the property.

Questions brides ask me

Answers, plainly.

Which days can we book at $2,900?

Any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. All four are the same price, so pick whichever suits your people best. Friday, Saturday and holiday dates are $5,700 for the identical day.

Is there a dinner, or just cake?

The weekday minimony is a cake and punch reception with a champagne toast. It is lovely and it is plenty for a small ceremony. If you want a seated dinner, ask me about the Midimony and I will price it honestly.

How do we get an Arkansas marriage license?

You both go in person to any Arkansas county clerk with photo ID. No waiting period and no blood test, so it is valid the moment you walk out. It stays good for sixty days and has to be returned to that clerk within sixty days either way, so most couples go a week or two beforehand.

Does our officiant need to be registered?

Yes, and this one catches people. In Arkansas your officiant's credentials have to be recorded with a county clerk before they perform the ceremony. Ordained online is fine, but your friend still has to register. Have them call a clerk well ahead of the date.

How many people can we invite?

The $2,900 covers up to thirty. Additional guests are $35 each, and we can seat up to seventy.

How long do we have the chapel?

Four hours in total, and it splits evenly. Two hours in the bridal suite getting ready, then two hours for your ceremony, photographs, cake and punch, your first dance and your send-off. There is a sample timeline further up this page.

What if it rains?

Your ceremony is inside the chapel, so rain does not touch your wedding day. The gardens are for photographs, and an overcast sky makes those better anyway.

How far are you from Little Rock, Conway or Fort Smith?

We are in Dardanelle, about fifteen minutes from Russellville, an hour from Conway, and roughly ninety minutes from both Little Rock and Fort Smith.
